01-       Ambassador Basnyat urges business people to flow investment to          Nepal

            Kathmandu, July 15: Nepali Ambassador to the Philippines Dr Noranjan Man Singh Basnyat  urged the Philippine industrialists and entrepreneurs to flow investment to Nepal.

            At a programme organized by the Nepali Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on investment and tourism promotion at Manila of the Philippines, he noted positive change in the outlook towards optimistic economic growth rate and people's investment in Nepal of late.

            At the programme, Ambassador Basnyat said Nepal has become the best destination for investment owing to abundant tourism potentials, improving investment-friendly environment, easy bonus receiving and profit return process, according to the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia. RSS

02-       'Forest conservation is human responsibility'

            Kathmandu, July 15: The environmentalists of Nepal and Japan have stressed the need to revert to natural life.

            At a programme organized by Japan's Yokohama City University and Yamadabi Company in the capital city, Kathmandu, on Friday, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa said it was the human responsibility to conserve forestry.

            He noted that the Nepali community should engage their full efforts to translate the saying 'Green Forest Nepal's Wealth' into practice.

            On the occasion, member-secretary of the Chure-Bhawar-Madhes Forest Conservation Committee Hem Lal Aryal, Prof Dr Fujiwara of Yokohama University, Yamadabi Company Chairperson Yamadahibeo, environmentalist Dr Mahendranath Subedi and Nepali international law practitioner working in Japan Balaram Shrestha among others stressed the need to spring into actions on forest conservation sector taking lessons from Japan. 03-       Tourism, energy and road network expansion on priority

            Pokhara, July 15: Annapurna rural municipality has put high emphasis on tourism development, energy production and road network expansion for economic prosperity and development.

            Unveiling the annual budget, policy and programme on Friday, Annapurna rural municipality chairperson Yubaraj Kunwar shared that Rs 286.5 million has been appropriated for the fiscal year 2074/75 BS.

            Physical infrastructure development is on priority of the rural municipality, he said, adding that they have come up with the plan to construct ring road connecting all wards, expand rural road network and generate power.
           
            "There is huge potential of water resource in the rural municipality", he noted, adding that, the concept of 'at least one house, one share to local people' would be put forward while generating electric power by utilizing water resource.

            Highlighting the need of tourism development in the world's best Annapurna Trekking Route, he shared that necessary physical infrastructure would be developed for this and its publicity would be made in the global market.

            On the occasion, rural municipality's vice-chairperson Sagun Gurung, NC regional President Poshnath Sharma, CPN (Maoist Centre) district member Pushpa Poudel, former central member of RPP Kul Bahadur Gurung, among others stressed the need to open up avenues for prosperity of the rural municipality through collective efforts. 04-       40 % complete in Rasuwagadhi hydropower project

            Rasuwa, July 15: At least 40 % of the construction of Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project in northern Rasuwa has completed as of now.

            According to project engineer Nagendra Gywali, the 111 Megawatt project has seen the construction of water dam, sand filter pond and tunnel and powerhouse side by side.

            The project hd resumed its works since November 2016 following the earthquake. The project to be completed within two years is expected to annually generate 644 million units of electricity.

            Technicians involved in the project said that the project would generate annual income of Rs 3.5 billion. RSS

05-       Kulekhani-Fakhel road into operation

            Hetauda, July 15: The Hetauda-Kathmandu transport service has been disrupted after a landslide occurred at Sisneri Thingdanda in Indrasarobar rural municipality-3 along the Hetauda-Kulekhani road section at around 2.00am this morning.

            With the disruption of the road section, the Hetauda-Kathmandu transport service has been brought to operation through Kulekhani-Fakhel road as an alternative route since this morning, shared the District Police Office, Mawanpur.

            Two dozers have been mobilized to clear the debris of landslides at Thingdanda on Sisneri road section. According to CDO Narayan Prasad Sharma Dawadi, they are supposed to operate the obstructed road from this afternoon if the weather condition remains favourable. RSS

06-       Voters' roll update from July 16

            Hetauda, July 15: The District Election Office is set to update voters' roll of the district from July 16.

            According to the office, the new voters name list will be collected in eight rural municipalities, one municipality and one sub-metropolis of Makawanpur district under the Province-3.

            District Election Officer Govinda Prasad Poudel told RSS that the updates and amendment to the voters' roll would be carried out from July 31 to August 4.
