Kathmandu, March 16: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said Nepal is a fertile land for investment.
While inaugurating the sixth International Trade Fair at local
Bhrikutimandap today, the Prime Minister said an investment-friendly atmosphere
has been established in Nepal with the political confusion clearing up.
On the occasion, he called upon the national and international
community not to have doubt in investing in Nepal.
The fair jointly organised by the government and Federation of
Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) will run until March 20.
PM Dahal further said a sophisticated building would be
constructed at Chhobhar in the capital for organizing such fairs and the
Cabinet meeting today will take decision in this connection.
He added that the political agendas were gradually implementing
and government was ready to work together with private sectors to achieve
economic progress in the country.
Traders from China,
India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand and Bhutan are participating in the
fair.
Speaking in the programme, FNCCI chair Pashupati Muraraka said
that the fair will be a meeting point for buyers, sellers and manufacturers.
Similarly, FNCCI vice chair Bhawani Rana urged the government to
create safety environment for investment.
On the occasion, traders, investors, envoys and high level
government officials of these countries were present.
The fair has showcased
various 304 stalls related to food, textiles, herbs, handicraft among other
products.
