UN ESCAP executive secretary for Asia,
Pacific calls on PM Dahal
Kathmandu, March 17:Visiting Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), Shamshad Akhtar, today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal 'Dahal' Prachanda.
Kathmandu, March 17:Visiting Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), Shamshad Akhtar, today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal 'Dahal' Prachanda.
During the meeting took place at the Singha Durbar-based Office
of Prime Minister, the two discussed about the matters relating to the UN ESCAP
affairs. The Commission that was established in 1947 AD presently comprises 53
countries including Nepal in Asia-Pacific region as its members while various
nine countries are associated with it.
Akhtar of Pakistan assumes the post since 2014. The UN ESCAP is
assisting in the sectors of socio-economic development, environment and
sustainable development, information and communications and technology in the
