Search expedited for legally and illegally
possessed firearms in Chitwan
Chitwan, March 17: As the local level's election is drawing closer, the local authority in Chitwan district has stepped up the search and surveillance of arms, especially firearms that is kept by the members of public either legally or illegally in view of security concern during the election.
Chitwan, March 17: As the local level's election is drawing closer, the local authority in Chitwan district has stepped up the search and surveillance of arms, especially firearms that is kept by the members of public either legally or illegally in view of security concern during the election.
According to the
District Administration Office (DAO) Chitwan, a total of 204 people in the
district have kept the arms for security reasons and various other reasons, of
them only 115 have renewed their license.
Chief District Officer
(CDO) in Chitwan, Narayan Prasad Bhatta, shared that of the legally possessed
firearms, different varieties of single and double barreled gun.
The DAO Chitwan has
issued notice aimed at those possessing arms to submit them to the local
authority. So far, four have submitted their firearms, informed CDO Bhatta.
The local authority
will be taking action against those discarding to the notice or not submitting
their arms in the given time, said Superintendent of Police Deepak Thapa. RSS
